History of Františkovy Lázně
History of Františkovy Lázně begins with the history of Francis spring. Formerly called Slatinná or Chebská kyselka. All the historical records of the sources were destroyed by fire in the town of Cheb in 1270. In the 17th century spa guests arrive to Cheb, mineral water is also popular with Empress Anna. The popularity of spas is growing and later the council decided to build the spring inn with a spa with several bathrooms and a bottler. Františkovy Lázně operates primarily as an aftercare for Karlovy Vary spa cures.
Františkovy Lázně and Dr. Adler
Change occurs in late 18th century when Earl Cavriani project spas and Earl Kolovrat lets build the first spring pavilion. The big change was the efforts of doctor Adler who demanded hygienic mineral water bottling in the pipes, bring out the water from the tank and closed the pavilion bars. Famous female rebellion culminates with the demolition of the pavilion. Dr. Adler requested a letter of Emperor Leopold II. who took a spring under his protection. The City Council then proposes the construction of the spa. After approval of Leopold II. starting with a screening of buildings.
- Following the approval of specific proposals for public works by Francis I. April 27th, 1793 considered as the founding date of Frantiskovy Lazne.
- The first public private bath is being built up in 1827 under the action of Mayor Christopher Loimann.
Františkovy Lázně and its architecture
Alleys and baths get classical checkerboard layout. The city represents the center and spas. In 1865, the village is connected to the rail and in terms of the emperors decree becomes a city. Františkovy Lázně has become famous spa town.

Changing the French parks into the England parks and the overall expansion of green was one of the last adjustments of spa. A gardener who took care of the adjustment was Martin Soukup.

- National park SOOS
It is a tectonic rift origin with Tertiary sedimentation kaolinitic clay subsoil.
- Komorní hůrka volcano
For the youngest active volcano is considered Komorní hůrka near the village of Slatina. Real volcano is the basalt core of the hill. Interestingly, the basalt was used to build the Black Tower Cheb.
- Štekr mill
Štekr mill was built in 1540. Even today, the Lower Mill is used as a restaurant and the farm with racehorses.
- Seeberg castle (Ostroh)
Probably founded in the end of 12th century. Pravděpodobně byl založen již na konci 12.století. The castle has undergone several building phases. Phases of Romanesque, Gothic and the Renaissance. Baroque barn in front of the castle dates from the first quarter of the 18th century.
